How do virtual sessions work?
Why use treats? Won't I need them forever?
You have to feed your dog sometime! Why not during training? Whatever motivates your dog best - for example food, play, sniffing the ground, or even water - should be used as a tool to keep them engaged. Later, as your dog masters their skills, we will phase out rewards gradually. Dogs deserve to be paid for their work.
How long will it take to....?
Contact us for help! There is no way to be certain how long training will take, but we can make our best estimate after getting to know you and your dog.
What is your vaccination policy?
Proof of vaccination is required before starting training. These records can be provided in person or via email. All dogs in the home must be current on age-appropriate vaccinations for parvovirus, distemper, parainfluenza, and adenovirus (DHPP combo). All dogs 17 weeks and older must be current on rabies vaccinations.
When can my puppy start training?
Vaccinated puppies can start in-home training from 8 weeks old. Puppies can start virtual training at any age.
Do you offer board and train?
Training fosters an unbreakable bond, and that bond should be with you. We are here to facilitate a conversation between you and your dog.
Do you charge extra for aggressive dogs?
Never! Aggressive dogs and their families are the most in need of help, and we will not punish them for seeking guidance.
How long are training sessions?
Sessions typically last 1 hour, but your dog decides how long we work. Speaking Canine means listening to your dog when they say “I’m done.” All sessions end on a high note, leaving them wanting more.
What do I need?
Most of the time you only need a flat collar or harness, 4-6 foot leash, and your dog’s favorite treats and toys. We highly recommend a clicker and treat pouch.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Dogs are thinking, feeling beings with dynamic and spontaneous behavior. No one can ever guarantee that they will behave in a certain way all the time. However, phone and email support are available for the life of your dog.
